VIDEO: Italian Coast Guards Rescued 2.154 Migrants in One Day

An Italian Coast Guard ship rescued 371 migrants from the Sicily Channel in three different operations on Tuesday on Sicily Channel.

In total, 2.154 migrants and refugees aboard 16 dinghys and one pontoon were rescued in 17 operations on Tuesday.

According to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, 173,728 refugees have arrived by sea in Europe already this year, with 19,934 of them in Italy.

The UN added that 716 refugees are believed to be dead or missing.
