Saudi Colonel Abdullah al-Sahyan was killed at dawn on Monday "while they were carrying out their attacks in supervising operations near Taez" province in Yemen's southwest, the official SPA news agency said.
A Yemeni officer told AFP that Colonel Abdullah al-Sahyan was killed when Yemeni forces fired a rocket at a coastal road in the strategic province, which overlooks the Bab al-Mandab Strait between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
A Saudi-led coalition has been battling Yemeni Forces in Yemen since March, and has provided terrorists with troops and equipment as well as carrying out air strikes on people positions.
Sahyan on Saturday met Yemeni former fujitive President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi who awarded him with a medal of courage.
He was identified as commander of the Saudi forces in provisional capital Aden.
According to a report by the United Arab Emirates’ state news agency WAM on Monday, an Emirati officer, identified as Sultan Mohammed Ali al-Kitbi, was killed in Yemen’s southwestern province of Ta’izz; Yahoo News reported.
