The first attack took place at the Petit Cambodge restaurant and Le Carillon bar. In that attack, terrorists from their car fired upon diners on both sides of the street, killing at least a dozen people.
At about the same time, there were explosions near the Stade de France, where France and Germany were playing a friendly soccer match.
At least three people were reported killed. French President Francois Hollande was in attendance and evacuated to safety.
Many of the shooting deaths occurred the Bataclan, a concert hall where the band the Eagles of Death Metal were playing.
News reports said terrorists killed more than 100 at the concert hall, with many others taken hostage.
Security forces killed three terrorists, ending the hostage situation.
