Yemeni Ansarullah fighters and army troops fired a barrage of rockets at the Tuwal and al-Khowjarah military bases in the Saudi region of Jizan on Friday.
The Yemeni forces also targeted several Saudi army posts on al-Doud Mountains along the border.
"Earlier on Friday, Ansarullah fighters infiltrated into the town of Rabi’iyah in the Asir region and attacked several Saudi military bases there."
The Yemeni fighters managed to take control of the bases after heavy clashes with Saudi forces, and destroyed several military vehicles.
Meanwhile, Ansarullah fighters confiscated military vehicles as well as an arms depot used by Saudi mercenary forces in Dhamar province in Yemen.
Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 227 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 6,919 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.
Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.
Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures, FNA reported.
