“Terrorists come from tens of countries to Syria with the support and training provided… by some major and regional states, while the Syrian people are defending… the dignity and security of their country”, SANA quoted Boroujerdi as saying at a press conference in Damascus on Thursday.
The senior Iranian lawmaker is in Syria for talks with the crisis-hit country’s officials.
Elsewhere in his comments, Boroujerdi said Syria’s battle against the terrorist attacks deserves every appreciation.
He also stressed that the only way out of the crisis in Syria remains to be a “political” solution, noting that any initiative without coordination with the Damascus government will be doomed to failure.
Syria has been entangled in civil war since March 2011. The ISIL Takfiri group now controls parts of the Arab country, mostly in the east.
In the past four and half years, more than 240,000 people have died in Syria -overwhelmingly civilians- and around 4 million Syrian people are now refugees in other countries. Around 8 million others have been displaced internally; Tasnim News Agency reported.
