“Today, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps has immense power with reliance on people and faith (in God), and by possessing very advanced technologies, it is ready to counter any foreign threat,” the top general said in a cultural conference held in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad on Wednesday.
He asserted that “defending the Islamic Revolution” is the main duty of the IRGC forces.
Earlier in March, Major General Jafari had underlined that Iran has become strong enough to repel all kinds of threats.
"We have become so powerful that we have no concerns about the enemy’s irrational behaviors. We will address any scenario considered by the enemy," the top commander had told Tasnim.
Later in April, Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi also stressed that the response to any possible aggression by enemies would be strong and crushing.
Cautioning the enemies of dire consequences of possible military moves against Iran, the top general said, "Our response to any possible attack would be much more crushing than (Iran's response during) the Sacred Defense (Iraqi imposed war on Iran in the 1980s)."
