Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani who was addressing a meeting of Judiciary high-ranking officials on Monday, congratulated the National Day of Journalists, and urged more efforts by the media activists to promote religious and moral values across the society, to prevent crime, and to provide accurate information to the public; “the media should be aware enough not to work as a mouthpiece to spread baseless stories and to acquit, before the public, convicts of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s courts,” he said.
Amoli Larijani believed that western media hegemony and Zionist propaganda octopus waged huge attempts to suppress independent Muslim nations of Palestine and Iraq as an example of working out of the media as an instrument for oppression and keeping the public misinformed; “west has spread its media hegemony to promote its own specific values and to justify and perpetuate the injustice and crimes; all media and news outlets in the Islamic countries should take their human, social, and religious responsibility of casting light into the realities of the media and of fostering universal values and morality,” Amoli Larijani emphasized.
“The US officials have embarked on a new wave of Iranophobia after the nuclear deal; for example false stories on Parchin military center violate the commitments of the west in nuclear deal; according to the Leader’s fatwa, procurement, stockpile and use of nuclear weapons are prohibited; the US has fueled the media propaganda even after the nuclear deal; they have been making storm in a teapot claiming that they prevented Iran from making nuclear weapons,” he criticized the west. “The US officials should expiate their historic mistakes in policy toward Iran, and avoid trying to misinterpret Iranian’s gloriously coming to negotiation table,” he expressed hopes.
