Bahraini judiciary dependent to Royal Family of Al-Khalifa sentenced Sheikh Ali Salman Secretary General of the Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society and Leader of the majority opposition's of the country four years in prison.
According to AFP “A Bahrain court jailed Sheikh Ali Salman opposition leader after convicting him of “inciting disobedience” and “hatred in the Sunni-ruled kingdom”, a judicial source said.
Charges, Bahraini people and human rights organizations and activists believed are politically motivated.
But the court acquitted him of the more serious charge of seeking to overthrow the monarchy and change its political regime, the source added.
On October Amnesty International called on Bahraini officails to free bahrain most prominent opposition figure, before an expected verdict on charges that he “incited anger against the Persian Gulf Arab state's monarchy”.

Sheikh Ali Salman, a Shiite Cleric and head of the al Wefaq, was arrested in December in a case that angered his followers and stirred unrest in the tiny and Saudi backed country.
