Police said the driver took off during a routine traffic stop outside of Washington D.C. Aerials showed the silver pickup truck speeding past other vehicles and driving onto the median.

At one point, the pickup truck spins into oncoming traffic.

Police officers with guns drawn eventually surround the truck and pull the driver from it, placing her on the ground.

Details about what prompted the initial traffic stop have not been released.
