The so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which opposes the Syrian government, said on Monday that Syrian warplanes killed 31 militants in a wave of aerial bombardment against the terror group in its Raqqa bastion.
The bombing continued on Monday with at least 16 raids targeting the ISIL positions.
Syrian fighter jets also hit several ISIL-held strongholds in the province of Aleppo on Monday.
The ISIL Takfiris summarily executed 700 people from the al-Sheitaat tribe in Deir ez-Zor Province, the UK-based group said, adding that there are “more than 1,800 members of the tribe, who are still missing.”
On Friday, the United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution against the ISIL militants in Syria and Iraq, calling on them to “disarm and disband with immediate effect.”
The ISIL terrorists currently control parts of eastern Syria and western Iraq.
Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since 2011. According to some sources, more than 170,000 people have been killed and millions displaced due to the violence fueled by Western-backed militants.
The Western powers and their regional allies - especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia and, Turkey - are reportedly supporting the militants operating inside Syria.
