"The PST has received information that persons related to an extreme group in Syria may be planning to carry out a terrorist act in Norway," Bjoernland told a news conference.
"They may be planning to carry out the attack within a short period of time, probably within a few days. But we do not know how, when and in what manner," she said.
Takfiri ISIL militants currently operating in Iraq and Syria have unveiled a five-year plan for expanding their control into Europe, a report says.
The terrorist militants plan first to extend their so-called Islamic caliphate into Eastern Europe, including Romania, Bulgaria and Greece, and then conquer as far as Austria, the Daily Mail said in a report.
The entire Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey and Iran are marked in ISIL’s map.
“The legality of all emirates, groups, states and organizations becomes null by the expansion of the caliph's authority and the arrival of its troops to their areas,” ISIL spokesman, Abu Mohammed al-Adnani, said.
The ISIL has also posted a video on the web, threatening to invade and take over Spain too.
The minute-long footage shows two Spanish-speaking men saying Spain is the land of their forefathers and that they are prepared to die for their nascent Islamic State.
The men added that the ISIL would not stop at Spain and intends to spread its Islamic Caliphate across the world.
