Iranian ambassador to Kuwait Ali-Reza Enayati told al-Alam News Channel on Saturday night that senior Kuwaiti and Iranian officials intend to pave the way for expansion of mutual ties.
The two sides are to sign different memoranda of understanding on trade, culture, air transportation, customs cooperation, tourism and sports, the ambassador said.
The Kuwaiti Emir presides a high-ranking delegation, including ministers of trade, industry, oil and foreign affairs, Enayati noted.
Kuwaiti and Iranian officials are expected to discuss regional issues such as the Iraqi-Kuwaiti issue and terrorism in the region, he added.
Sheikh Sabah al-Jaber al-Sabah, the then Kuwaiti foreign minister had submitted his country’s congratulation on the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran to Iranian authorities.
The Kuwaiti Emir is also the first Persian Gulf Cooperation Council’s leader who will visit Iran.
