Zarif, who arrived in Beirut Sunday night, laid a wreath on the tomb of Hezbollah’s martyred commander Imad Mughniyih and visited the bombing site outside the Iranian Embassy.
On Nov. 19, two suicide bombers targeted Iran's embassy in Beirut, killing 30 people including an Iranian diplomat. The terrorist group of Abdallah Azzam Brigades, an al-Qaeda offshoot, claimed responsibility for the attack.
Lebanese security forces had arrested Majed al-Majed, the Saudi commander of the group, which claimed responsibility for the attack on Iran’s Embassy in Beirut.
Majed died at Lebanon's military hospital in the Beirut neighborhood of Badaro.
