Zarif arrived in Qatari capital Doha on Monday after visiting Kuwait and Oman.
In his Twitter account, the Iranian foreign minister hailed his meetings with leaders of the regional countries and wrote, “My meetings with leaders of Kuwait, Oman and Qatar demonstrated that what unites us is far greater than our minor differences”.
In a meeting in Kuwait City on Sunday, Zarif and his Kuwaiti counterpart Sheikh Sabah Khalid al-Hamad al-Sabah discussed ways to bolster mutual relations in all fields.
“We believe that a new era has begun in ties between Iran and regional states which should turn into a new chapter of amicable relations through efforts by all regional countries,” Zarif said.
He added that Iran and Kuwait have political resolve to boost economic ties and voiced Tehran’s readiness for joint trade and energy ventures.
“We are happy that the meeting of the second joint high economic committee was held between the two countries after seven years and it is necessary to try to implement its agreements through regular contacts between Iranian and Kuwaiti officials at different levels,” he stated.
Also on Sunday, Zarif met Oman's ruler Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said and discussed bilateral ties and regional issues.
Zarif is planning to visit other regional Arab countries in the coming days.
