Sadiq Rabi who is a member of al-Wefaq National Islamic Society told Alalam on Wednesday that Al Khalifa regime was conducting a “new conspiracy to make excuses for violent suppressing of peaceful demonstrations”. Rabi said, “Today no one can govern a nation by accusing them as subversive and aberrant and governments should come to power through polls”.
He said al-Wefaq had no decision to start dialogues with the Bahraini regime yet and the reason was escalated violations against demonstrators in the past weeks. “The (Al Khalifa) Regime does not seek democratic solutions to calm the dispute and they only speak of solutions while they use guns and tear gases on their people,” he added.
Rabi added human rights violations were increased and oppositions would not engage in talks with the regime in such condition.
The opposition in Bahrain is calling for democratic reforms, including a fairly elected parliament with full legislative powers and an elected prime minister, but Many in Bahrain have lost faith in the royal family’s willingness to implement democratic reform.
