Anti-regime protesters have been holding peaceful demonstrations across Bahrain since February 2011, calling for an end to the Al-Khalifa family's nearly four-decade rule.
Participants at Friday demonstrations chanted slogans against al-Khalifa regime, demanding a system which is elected through popular vote to rule over the country.
Demonstrators also stressed their peaceful resolve until all their demands are met.
Bahraini people called on western government, Britain and the U.S. in particular, to stop supporting al-Khalifa regime militarily, because, they said, the regime uses imported weaponry to crush dissent.
Meanwhile, Bahraini revolutionary groups have stressed that they will continue with their activities until February 14th and the anniversary of the people’s revolution.
Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim, the head of Bahraini Ulema (scholars’) Council, emphasized yesterday during the Friday Prayers’ that the Bahraini people had no choice but to demonstrate in order to put pressure on the regime to enforce their desired changes.
Some 80 people are believed to have been killed and thousands more arrested since the unrest began.
Moreover, Bahraini Ministry of Health fired seven medics on Friday for helping the injured opposition demonstrators. There are still several other medics imprisoned on the same charges.
