As Iraqi forces continue their advances into Mosul, Dozens of Iraqi civilians trapped by fighting in Mosul have fled on Saturday to find safer places for their families.
Displaced people in the Tahrir and Zahara districts emerged from their homes, some of them carrying white flags, and headed toward the troops to be evacuated from the battlefield; AP reported.
Fighting continued in the morning, with Iraqi forces and Islamic State group (Daesh/ISIL/ISIS/IS) militants firing mortars and automatic weapons on each other's positions.
