According to the statement, the Syrian government troops on Tuesday night repelled an offensive by Jabhat Fatah Al Sham militants near military schools and 1070 Housing Project quarter in Aleppo.
"During the counterattack, the Syrian forces supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces have destroyed the leading Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham unit, including four tanks, three infantry combat vehicles, nine pickup truck with heavy machine guns and up to 100 militants," the statement reads.
Al Nusra Front terrorists launched on Monday a large-scale offensive on Syrian army positions in south-western outskirts of Aleppo City following a massive artillery shelling.
