Larijani: West Must Beware of Iran’s Abandoning N-Talks

Iran’s Parliament Speaker has threatened Western countries with Iran’s abandoning Nuclear Talks in the face of mounting pressures on itself, Al-Alam News Network reports.

Ali Larijani delivered a speech on Sunday morning in Islamic Republic of Iran International Conference Center on the occasion of Judiciary Week, where he touched upon the three-decade long policies of the west toward Iran and warned the west against their excessive demands.

Larijani dubbed what Toni Blair had told the British troops in Basra in the wake of 2003 invasion of Iraq of “reaping the fruit of Iraq’s invasion in Iran,” and warned them of not making the same mistake as it never bore any fruit for the British.

He stressed that the west was more in need for a nuclear deal with Iran, as Iranians are accustomed to difficulties and would not be afraid of more pressures.

He cautioned the western parties to the talks not to make Iran abandon the talks and speed up its nuclear development, “as then they would be the losers.”

Parliament speaker pointed to the recently published book by former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and believed that the Americans animosity towards Iranians was ‘quite noticeable in the book’ as she expressed content with sanctions against Iran and her words set Israel’s Netanyahu to a euphoric happiness.

Larijani further added that, however, west had already accepted Iran’s right to continue uranium enrichment and nuclear-related research and development. The lawmaker also advised west to “act wisely” and “live up to their own words.”

Iranian officials have already clarified that nuclear-related research activities will continue regardless of a potential final deal with the 5+1, stressing that the Islamic Republic will not agree to any inspections of its military sites as part of a final nuclear deal.
