Nasrallah: Iran deal is in favor of whole region

Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah says the whole region will benefit from the agreement between Iran and the P5+1 group of world powers over Tehran's nuclear program.

In an interview with Lebanese OTV news channel on Tuesday, Nasrallah said, “the Iranian nuclear agreement has very important consequences and the first winner is people in the region, from the Persian Gulf to the Middle East, because regional and international forces were pushing for the choice of war with Iran and this is not an easy choice, and it would have led to very dangerous repercussions on the entire region”.

“The agreement produced by Iran's dialogue with the P5+1 world powers has consolidated the multipolar nature of the current world order and from now on, no single nation can make decisions and settle things on its own,” he said adding that Israel can no longer threaten a war on Iran.

He further said the agreement with Iran was also due to the fact that the United States was tired for all the wars it has been involved in the region.

“Days ago, the US chief of staff said that the capabilities of the US army are at their weakest levels since decades, this means that the Americans are facing a new situation and they don't want war,” he said.

Asked about Saudi Arabia’s recent stances toward the crisis in Egypt, Hezbollah chief said, “Saudi Arabia's war on the Muslim Brotherhood is a political war because it wants to be the leader of the Muslim world and it does not accept any partners.”

“I believe that there is a real problem with Saudi Arabia because all the attempts to open the door of dialogue have failed”, he added.

Nasrallah said despite all the hostility that Saudi Arabia has shown toward Iran, the Islamic Republic has been open to dialogue and resolving problems.

“Minister Zarif is reassuring them today that nothing will happen at the expense of the Persian Gulf countries (regarding nuclear deal) and he was keen on reassuring Saudi Arabia,” he said.
